Just Yell Fire
Train the Trainer - Empowering teachers to save our daughters
History
Just Yell Fire is teaching girls to fight back against abduction and sexual assault with our seminar program and the Just Yell Fire film. In just a couple of hours we teach teenage girls that they have rights, that they face dangers which can be minimized, and we teach some simple street-fighting techniques to get away from any bad situation.
The Just Yell Fire program has affected hundreds of thousands of girls but to save a generation we launched the Train the Trainer program to teach others how to keep girls safe with Just Yell Fire skills. We have found that most teenage girls don’t know they have rights; our response is a Dating Bill of Rights. We know that, until now, there have been no self defense courses specifically for teenage girls; complicated techniques designed for adult women are ineffective for this age group as they typically freeze up when facing an assault. Our response is the age-appropriate Just Yell Fire program.
Just Yell Fire is an effective approach to stopping violence against the most vulnerable members of our society – girls 11 to 19. We empower them to stay safe and you can too! Who attends? The Just Yell Fire program was developed with teachers, coaches, teens, law enforcement, and martial artists to provide the tools and training to incorporate safety and self defense for girls 11 to 19 into their middle and high school curriculum. While our initial focus was exclusively on teachers and coaches, we also now have trainees from the private sector getting certified so that they can hold private seminars, teach within their organizations, and others simply to learn how to keep their families safe. Program attendees are typically a mix of middle and high school teachers, people involved in athletic or scout programs, plus business people, government employees, and even elected officials.
